Description
This book is an in depth guide to the figure of the Messiah. Starting with the expectation of the Messiah in the first century, Tim Hegg looks at various texts including dead sea scrolls, 1Enoch, Sirach, and on into the early rabbinic literature to get a better understanding of the Messianic expectation. Hegg then turns to the Apostolic Scriptures (New Testament) to see the Messianic understanding of the Gospels. A survey of key texts in the Apostolic Scriptures shows how Yeshua fulfilled the role of the Messiah. Hegg finishes by looking at the understanding of Yeshua as the Messiah by the Church Fathers after the resurrection.
This book is a wonderful reference guide to have on the shelf, but is also a wonderful resource for groups and individual study.
